Dad

This one is for you!

This page is dedicated to my father, Richard van der Mast.

My dad was born on October 21, 1938 in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

My dad is the one who transferred the classic car virus onto me.

Occupation

My dad has been a lawyer for all his life. He has been mainly involved with civil law.

He handled a lot of divorces and inheritances. Before he retired in the summer of 2002 he was a partner in the lawfirm

Goedvriend & Van der Mast .

Hobbies

One of the greatest loves in his life, besides his wife Josephine (Josje)  who he married on 21 oktober 1972, is English sportcars, in particulary his Triumph TR6 from 1975. He has restored the car to mint condition and enjoys driving it. That car has a lovely exhaust note (there is no other like it). He however enjoys most types of English sportscars and is looking to trade his TR6 for a TR3. Less power, less exhaust note, but nicer looking.

His dream car is a TR2 or 3 small mouth. So if anybody has a nice example for sale, feel free to send an email.

My dad is also interested in learning about any subject that has to do with history. Is it in our blood?

See also the genealogy-site about our family name on the main page.

Parkinson

My dad has recently been struck with the Parkinson disease. This was an immense blow to his well being. He had been a lawyer for all his life,

and a pretty good one as I may say; so to not being able to handle a pen, was a terrible experience.

This was also one reason to retire as a lawyer in 2002.

We hope he will keep on fighting against this terrible flick of nature.
